For over 20 years, H. Wilson Industries has been a proud partner of Syncrude’s annual food drive supporting the Wood Buffalo Food Bank Association. In November each year, volunteers are stationed at all local grocery stores with H. Wilson’s signature red pick-up trucks, collecting cash, gift cards and monetary donations from our community. This is a wonderful annual event that our team is excited to be part of each year.

Since 2010, H. Wilson Industries has been a proud sponsor of Careers for the next Generation. Careers for the next Generation is a program that supports the Registered Apprenticeship program, Careers Co-op Apprenticeship and technology programs and young women in trades and technologies. We have been part of the Registered Apprenticeship program and the Careers Co-Op apprenticeship program, sponsoring students in the apprenticeship and Industrial trades program. We love to see these students get exceptional hands-on training within our company in their field of study.

From 2014 – 2020, H. Wilson has played a part in the RMWB Winter play program. We help with getting the surfaces prepared by plowing and snow removal from the ice at Snye Park. Winter play is a weeklong event that takes place each winter with ice sculptures, fireworks, a petting zoo, dog sled rides, skating, hockey and several other events. This is such a great way to be able to give back to a community that gives us so much in return.

The Fort McMurray Construction Associate plays a major role within our community and sharing in that is gratifying. We love to participant in the Annual Industry Golf classic as a hole sponsor and as well a company participant with 6-8 company employees playing in the event annually. It’s a great way to get out and enjoy the community golf course and support a great organization.

The Regional Hospital Health Foundation Festival of Trees event is something H. Wilson has supported for many years. We help by purchasing, and decorating one of the trees to be auctioned off at the event and participate in the ugly sweater day and the Gala. This is an event that brings the community together in support of our local Northern Lights Health Foundation.

H. Wilson has been a hole sponsor and local participant in the Fort McMurray Metis Golf Tournament. The mission of McMurray Métis is to pursue the advancement of the Métis people of Fort McMurray and northeastern Alberta. H. Wilson believes this mission is important to the people in our community.

H. Wilson is a member of the Northeastern Alberta Aboriginal Business Association. As a member of the association, our mission is to be a positive partner in the intergenerational growth in all the communities across the RMWB. This is accomplished by leveling the economic playing field for Indigenous entrepreneurs and creating mutually beneficial business relationships for its members.

Fort McMurray Giants Baseball Team are a part of the WCBL and is a great local organization. H. Wilson is proud to be a team sponsor and support the team and youth in our community in as many areas as possible. It is a good feeling to be able to support local families and their children in sports.

The youth of today is the future of tomorrow. H. Wilson has been a financial contributor to the Fort McMurray Minor Hockey League for 10 years. This organization creates positive opportunities for our youth through leadership and growth exeriences.
