Reporting to a Foreman, an Asphalt Rakerman redistributes asphalt mix correctly as it leaves the screen and prepares it for rolling. As a member of the paving crew, an Asphalt Rakerman is responsible for the raking asphalt, shoveling excess asphalt, sweeping up debris and a variety of labor related duties.
The Ideal Candidate for this position will possess the following:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. is preferred.
- Class 5 Drivers License; a clean Driver’s Abstract.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working on a paving crew.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in asphalt raking on a paving crew.
- Demonstrate a proficient understanding of asphalt and raking techniques.
- Knowledge of paving construction methods, asphalt and road construction materials, heavy equipment operation and industry requirements.
- Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
- Valid Class 5 Operator’s License; clean Driver Abstract.
- Willingness to work out of town and in remote locations, as required.
- Willingness to work overtime, as required.

Wilson Industries Ltd was incorporated in May 1977, and is located in Fort McMurray, a community within the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo in Northern Alberta. The company operates out of a modern, newly constructed 8,000 square foot building with an adjoining 12,000 square foot shop on 10 acres of land.
This facility is strategically located on busy highway 63, two kilometers north of the city, and has access to all major Oil Sands facilities. Originally a specialty paving company, the organization has evolved to provide additional services including sewer and water installations, excavation, site grading, sand and gravel supply, concrete works and snow clearing services.
